Party Poker Launches New SoftwarePublished on 2008-09-24 06:39:55
Many people were introduced to the world of online poker by Party Poker. Their old design was not nearly as sleek and user-friendly as some of the other entrants to the online poker space, but many people were comfortable with it.
Party Poker, in the face of dropping marketshare, have finally decided to perform a major upgrade to both the functionality and look of their poker software package. The new software was released to the general public earlier this week, and Party Poker is hopeful that it will catch on with poker players and potentially lure some of their old customers back into the fold.
The new software contains a number of new features that should be appealing to current Party Poker clients.
One of the features that should be most popular with clients is the ability to customize your avatar. You can choose for a library of different images that are provided by Party Poker, or you can upload your own. Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker both place a heavy emphasis on their avatars, and Party Poker has finally caught on.
The tables now have a crisp new look that replaces the clunky old feel of the previous software. The betting slider is much easier to use, and there are a number of preset betting options. Those who are attached to the old software can rest comfortably in the knowledge that they still have the option of using the old software package if they wish.
They have all re-jigged their Sit and Go, MTT and shoot-out tournament structures as well. The starting chips have increased, and No Limit tournament structures will now include antes.
The lobby has been redesigned as well, and things seemed to be laid out more intuitively now. Party Poker also offers table resizing, table tiling and table cascading.
Party Poker has done a good job with this software upgrade - it will be interesting to see whether or not it helps them catch up to some of the poker networks that they are currently chasing.
Party Poker is currently offering a 100% matching bonus of up to $500 to commemorate the launching of their new software package. More details on that bonus offer can be found here.
