2008 was a great year for Pokerstars. They continued to build on the momentum that they established in the post-UIGEA environment of 2007. Pokerstars became the largest online poker room in the world in 2007, and they continued to build on their lead in 2008.
2009 looks to be more of the same from Pokerstars. The company is looking to cement their standing as the largest (and most respected) online poker room in the world by continuing to offer tremendous value to their customers.
How do they plan on doing that?

In this entry though, I would like to cover their 100% sign-up bonus and how a new player can qualify.
Let's start by clarifying Pokerstars' 100% deposit bonus.
This is a matching bonus that is available to customers making their FIRST ever real-money deposit on the site.
Pokerstars will match the size of a customer's initial deposit up to a maximum of $50.
So, if a player deposits $25 on the site initially, then they will be eligible for a bonus of $25.
If they deposit anything over $50, then they will qualify for the maximum bonus of $50.
In order to qualify for this bonus, you need to do two things:
1. Enter POKER-KING when prompted for a "Pokerstars Marketing Code" during the sign-up process.
2. Enter STARS50 when you are prompted for a "Pokerstars Bonus Code" during the sign-up process.
Doing these two things will ensure your eligibility for the 100% matching bonus of up to $50.
Once you have qualified for your bonus, you now need to earn it.
Earning your bonus is done by playing in real-money cash games, SNGs and MTTs.
You need to earn 10 Base FPPs for every $1 in bonus money that you are eligible for.
So, for instance, if you are eligible for a $20 bonus, then you would need to earn 200 Base FPPs in order to unlock your complete bonus.
Once you earn these Base FPPs, your bonus will be unlocked and the money will be credited to your account.
Pokerstars will give you up to SIX months to earn your bonus. This is (by far) the most generous allotment of time in the industry - most other rooms give their clients 3-4 months to earn their bonuses. Some give their players even less time!
