Are American Players Welcome on Pokerstars?
 |

With all of the legal issues swirling around the online poker world over the past few years, it is natural to wonder if certain sites still accept US players.
After the UIGEA was sneakily attached to the SAFE Port Act, many online poker rooms pulled out of the United States. These rooms included Party Poker, Paradise Poker and all of the sites in the iPoker network.
Many people naturally assumed two things:
1) That it was illegal for American residents to play online poker.
2) That all of the major poker rooms had pulled out of the United States.
Both of these points are untrue.
First off, there is no federal law that forbids Americans from playing online poker. Some states have enacted their own laws, but there is nothing that clearly makes it illegal to play online poker on a federal level.
Second, not all of the online poker rooms pulled out of the United States in the aftermath of UIGEA.
Full Tilt Poker, for one, remained open to American players.
In addition, the world's largest online poker room, Pokerstars, also remained loyal to their American customers.
Both of these rooms continue to service the American poker playing public. As a result, both Full Tilt Poker and Pokerstars have grown tremendously over the past couple of years. It's shouldn't surprise you to hear that Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker are the two largest online poker rooms in the world.
If you are worried about whether or not you can play on Pokerstars (if you are an American), don't be - you are certainly welcome on the site.
As a matter of fact, Pokerstars is currently offering a 100% sign-up bonus of up to $600 for all new American players.
All you have to do is enter the "Pokerstars Marketing Code" of POKER-KING when signing up to qualify for your bonus.
Good luck at the tables!
