Pokerstars Unveils Its New First Deposit Bonus

Pokerstars made many poker players very happy earlier this month when they announced that they would be dramatically increasing the size of their initial deposit bonus.
Out is the old 100% bonus of up to $50, and in is the new 100% bonus of up to $600.
Prior to increasing the size of their initial deposit bonus, Pokerstars had one of the worst offers around. While other rooms were offering sign-up bonuses of over $500, Pokerstars was still offering just $50.
How did they get away with it? Well, they were the largest online poker room on the planet as it was, and they likely didn't feel the need to increase the size of their welcome bonus.
In an effort to maintain their chokehold on the online poker industry, Pokerstars recently announced that they were dramatically increasing the size of their welcome bonus.
This offer is available to people who have not yet deposited on the site.
In order to qualify for this bonus offer, you need to do two things:
1. Enter POKER-KING as your "Pokerstars Marketing Code" when signing up on the site.
2. Enter STARS600 as your "Pokerstars Bonus Code" when depositing on the site.
Unlike other poker rooms, Pokerstars will allow THREE separate deposits to count towards the size of your bonus, as long as they are made within 90 days of your first deposit.
So, if you deposit $100 initially and then $500 a week later, then you would still be eligible for the entire $600 bonus.
Pokerstars will still give you up to six months to fully earn your bonus. As far as I am aware, this is the most generous allotment of time that is given by any room in the industry.
Bonuses will be released in increments of $10.
Bonuses are "earned" by playing in real-money cash games, SNGs and MTTs.
For every 17 VPPs that a player earns, $1 of their bonus will be made eligible for release.
So, if a player were eligible for a total bonus of $100, then they would need to "earn" 1,700 VPPs in order to release their entire bonus.
