Pokerstars Made the Biggest Change to Their Deposit Bonus in 2009
 |

With 2009 quickly drawing to a close, I thought that we would spend some time reviewing some of the changes that were made by some of the largest online poker rooms when it comes to their deposit bonuses.
The three rooms that we are going to review are:
Pokerstars
Full Tilt Poker
Party Poker
Let's begin with the 800 pound gorilla of the online poker industry - Pokerstars.
Pokerstars made a massive change to their initial deposit bonus offer in 2009. Their old 100% bonus of up to $50 was sent packing, and in its place was the brand-new, player-friendly 100% bonus of up to $600.
As is this wasn't enough, Pokerstars also included the stipulation that up to three qualifying bonuses would count towards the size of the initial deposit bonus.
Looking forward to 2010, Pokerstars is making player-friendly changes to their VIP program.
Full Tilt Poker didn't make any changes to their deposit bonus in 2009, but they have implemented a new bonus of up to $10,000 for players who are unable to sign up for rakeback accounts.
Full Tilt Poker can't be faulted for not increasing their deposit bonus in 2009, as they have pretty much been leading the pack in that department since their inception.
Party Poker started their rise back to prominence in 2009 by implementing their brand-new "Super Sign-up Bonus" early in the year.
I believe that their old bonus offer was good up to a maximum of $150.
Their new offers give new customers a chance to earn a 100% deposit bonus of up to $500 - that's quite an upgrade, and a big reason why Party Poker has suddenly become relevant again.

Looking ahead to 2010, I see Full Tilt Poker dramatically upgrading their player reward system in order to keep up with Pokerstars.
