Is It Wrong To Bonus Hunt?
 |

One of the most common questions that we receive through this site is - is it ok to bonus hunt?
First off - what exactly is "bonus hunting"?
"Bonus hunting" occurs when a player signs up for a site, takes advantage of their initial deposit bonus, and then leaves after fully earning this bonus.
There are literally hundreds of different sites out there (especially for people living outside of the United States), meaning that a person could conceivably take advantage of bonus offers from hundreds of different sites.
Is this ok? Yes.
Do you have a moral obligation to continue playing at a site once you have finished earning your bonus? No.
Online poker rooms, in general, makes obscene piles of money. They know exactly how much money they can offer for their initial deposit bonus. They know exactly how many people will take advantage of this offer and then leave, as well as how many people will continue to play on the site long after the bonus has been earned.
These are all figured into their costs.
Don't feel bad about being a bonus hunter. Some people (such as yourself) will play on a site for just a short period of time in order to take advantage of the bonus, while others will play for years and years, earning the poker room a pile of money.
Poker rooms know this, and they accept the fact that some people will just be interested in earning the bonus, so don't feel bad.
It's just business.
